Keeping up-to-date with The Electric Theatre

Dear Comms
We wanted to share a brief update on the progress being made to secure the future of The Electric Theatre. |
Online Operator Market Day |
We were delighted that around 20 organisations took part in our online Market Operator Day. The session provided an opportunity to share information about the Theatre and answer questions from potential operators interested in helping shape its future.
Encouraging discussions are continuing between our specialist consultant, Blue Horizon Ventures (BHV), and a number of those organisations.
Interested parties have until 12noon on Friday 30 October 2026 to submit optional written expression of interest via the SE Shared Services e-Sourcing portal (search for ‘Electric Theatre - Preliminary Market Engagement Notice’ Project Reference: GBC – 039234). |
During November, BHV will review any expressions of interest we have received. We will then consider the outcome and decide on the most appropriate next steps.
As previously shared, the options available include: - refining the delivery model and requirements
- adjusting the route to market
- publishing a formal procurement notice
- proceeding with a lease option
- deciding not to proceed.
We know The Electric Theatre is valued by many people across our borough and are grateful for the continued interest, support and engagement we’ve received. We remain committed to exploring the best way to secure a sustainable future for the Theatre so that it can continue to serve residents, our communities and visitors for years to come. |

Best wishes,
Guildford Borough Council. |
