Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden

There is still time for children aged 4-11 to sign up for the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge, Story Garden at their local library and receive a Story Garden pack. 

Everyone who reads six library books is rewarded with stickers, a medal and certificate!

French Conversation Groups

Join our friendly and informal conversation groups with fellow learners and enthusiasts. Build your confidence with the guidance of native French-speaking volunteers!

The Whitton Library group is perfect for beginners. The Ham Library and Teddington Library groups are suitable for intermediate and advanced learners.

Chess mates

Step into the world of kings, queens, and bold moves at our drop-in Chess Club!

Whether you're looking to improve your strategy or already thinking five moves ahead, there's a spot for you at the board. Connect with like-minded players in a fun and supportive environment.

Suitable for ages 8 and up.

Lego Club with Story Garden

Everyone loves making things with Lego! Design and build amazing creations and take part in fun Lego challenges. No experience necessary, and all materials will be provided. This free event is for children, accompanied by an adult.

Children must be registered with the Summer Reading Challenge: Story Garden, to participate in this event. Registration is free of charge.

Summer Holiday Lego Club

Adventures begin at your library this summer, where you can design, build, and bring your creativity to life. We’ll provide the Lego – all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and imagination!

Connect with new friends, exchange building tips, and showcase your skills in a fun, welcoming environment.

Knit and Natter at East Sheen Library

Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or cross stitch? Bring whatever you're working on and join our friendly group for a morning of making. Crafters of all levels are welcome to join these informal gatherings to learn some tips, gain inspiration, and meet new people.

Please bring your own yarn if you can.

Want to improve on your Spanish? Preparing for your Spanish break? Come along to our fortnightly sessions and learn or practice your Spanish in a fun and informal way.

Open to intermediate learners. Sessions are free to attend, and no booking is required.

Chatterbooks Library Club

In these hour-long themed sessions children are encouraged to think creatively, explore new stories, and have a lot of fun playing games. At the same time they'll make new friends and discover fantastic books by amazing authors.

Do you like computer games and animations? Would you like to learn how to create your own?
Richmond Libraries' Code Club is a free coding club open to young people aged 6 – 17. We will be running sessions on Scratch, HTML, Python, Robotics, Raspberry Pi and using Micro:bits. You will get the opportunity to work on your own project, from designing websites and video games to creating cool graphics!
