FAQs
What if I have an external exam at the same time as an internal (mock exam)? This is unlikely, but if you do, you must attend the external exam. We will arrange a time for you to sit the mock exam.
I have a clash with my mock exams, what will happen? You will be contacted directly to let you know the order in which you will sit the exams.
What happens if I miss a mock exam?
If you miss a mock exam owing to unforeseen circumstances, such as significant illness, please contact your tutor, and they will support with arranging an opportunity to sit the mock at another time.
What will be in the mock exam?
Your subject lecturer/s will let you know the length of the paper and the content you should revise in preparation for the mock exams.
I am an AS (year 1) learner, and my exam access arrangements have not been confirmed yet. Will I get them for the mocks?
We will do our best to accommodate any requested or pending Exam Access Arrangements (e.g., 25% extra time) during the mock exams. However, please note that this is not a guarantee that these arrangements will be approved and in place for the external summer exam series.
What are the mock exam results used for?
The results are used to inform your CAP 3 progress grade as well as identifying any support you may need to achieve. The grades would also be used to inform AS/A Level grades as part of the JCQ requirement for a resilience plan in the unlikely event that government determines that exams in the Summer of 2025 are not able to go ahead.
I am feeling anxious about the mocks, what support is there?
We understand that mock exams can be a source of anxiety, and we’re here to support you. A variety of tools and resources are available to help you manage this period. You can access them using the following link: Preparing for your Exams
If you need further support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your tutor.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and the best of luck in your mock exams.
Yours sincerely,
Billie Stokes Assistant Principal |
