Welcome to November's issue of Go Higher West Yorkshire's (GHWY) Care to Go Higher newsletter.

In this issue we are pleased to launch our updated Care Leaver Covenant, aimed at care-experienced students, and Estranged Student Pledge, aimed at estranged students, for 2024-25. The e-resources bring together the support, information, and top tips offered by our members to these groups of students in a single, easy to navigate document.

Our Estranged Student Pledge will be promoted through a social media campaign during Estranged Students Solidarity Week (25 November – 1 December). The theme for this year’s campaign, which is run by Estranged and Care Experienced Students (EaCES), is Invisible No More. Please do like and share our content!

There will be no issue next month due to Christmas but we will be back in the New Year with more news, activities and useful resources.

Please get in touch with Susan Darlington if you would like to share any news stories, resources or upcoming events from your organisation.

Based on pre- and post- programme surveys, the largest rise in participant knowledge was 82.7% for ‘How would you rate your knowledge of how the care experience and HE interact?’
