Dear Learner,
I hope the new term has started well for you. I am writing to give you some important information relating to exams in the summer of 2024.
Exam Access Arrangements
For those on the second year of a Level 3 course (e.g. second year of a programme such as A Level, T Level, IB, BTECs)
If you are in your second year with us and had exam access arrangements last year (such as extra time), these will stay in place with you this year too. There is no need to reapply for them.
If you are in the first year of a new course with us (e.g. you were at school last year and this is your first year with us, or you started a new Level 3 course with us this year having done a Level 2 course with us last year)
If you are in your first year of study with us and had exam access arrangements at school (such as extra time) last year, it is very important that you talk to your tutor if you would like to apply to have your access arrangements reassessed. Access arrangements have strict criteria set by awarding bodies. We can only put arrangements in place if:
- we receive evidence from your school of your prior exam access arrangements and
- we do the necessary assessments to show that you still require access arrangements in this academic year.
Please note therefore that having previously had exam access arrangements at school does not automatically mean that they will be repeated with us this year. If you are in your first year with us and would like to apply for exam access arrangements, please ensure you have asked your tutor to do so by 9 February 2024. We regret that if you tell us later than this, we are unlikely to be able to put exam access arrangements in place for you this year.
If you have applied already and want to check exam arrangements have been agreed, you can do so on your My eLIP on the exams section by choosing the menu titled Exam Access Arrangements (see picture below). |
