Update on Medicines Optimisation Prescribing Summit

Thank you for all the PCN Clinical Directors and Pharmacy Teams who participated in post summit feedback sessions. We incorporated your helpful feedback into our draft proposal. A draft proposal for consultation with The GP Alliance and ICB will be published in early December 23.

NSAID Masterclass

NHS Dorset remains the highest prescribers of NSAIDs nationally, with increased use in patients who are at risk of acute kidney injury. An NSAID masterclass has been commissioned for the benefit of prescribers led by a GP from the Wessex area. The masterclass will take place on Thursday 7 December 2023 12:00-1.30pm. You can find out more information and sign up via Eventbrite.

For further resources to support polypharmacy, visit ‘The Health Innovation Network’ Polypharmacy Programme. This programme is to help healthcare professionals address problematic polypharmacy by supporting easier identification of patients at potential risk from harm from multiple medications.

ADHD medicines supply

In national discussions soft intelligence has revealed that ADHD medicine supply is improving. If you continue to experience shortages, please see Oct 23 bulletin – Methylphenidate & other ADHD meds shortage.
