Major construction milestone reached for the Campus for Future Living

Work on the Town Deal funded Campus for Future Living in Mablethorpe has reached a significant construction milestone. 


The Campus, being developed by East Lindsey District Council and is under construction by Lindum Group, has held a traditional topping out ceremony to mark the completion of the roof.

Partnership to award more than £1.1million to community projects across South & East Lincolnshire

Several community projects, groups, initiatives and events across South & East Lincolnshire are set to benefit from more than £1.1millon in funding from the UK Shared Prosperity and Rural Prosperity Funds (UKSPF/REPF).


Twelve projects which aim to have a positive impact on communities and the economy in Boston, East Lindsey and South Holland are the latest to benefit from nearly £780,000 in grant awards, which are being distributed by South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership (SELCP) via a Government programme designed to build pride in place, provide high quality skills training and increase life chances across the sub-region.


A further commitment of more than £340,000 will be distributed among 20 parishes and towns through the Lincolnshire Community Foundation's UKSPF funded GRASSroots programme.

Events will showcase Multi-Million Pound Investment in Skegness and Mablethorpe

Local people are being invited to two special events that will showcase the multi-million pound investment and transformational improvements that are being delivered for Skegness and Mablethorpe.


The Connected Coast exhibition events will take place on Friday 17 November at Haven Holiday Park in Skegness, and on Friday 24 November at Mablethorpe Library.


Both events will provide an opportunity for people to drop in between 2pm - 5.30pm to find out more about the exciting projects - including the Campus for Future Living in Mablethorpe and the planned Skegness Learning Campus - that will bring huge benefits for both towns.

East Lindsey District Council Launch Age-friendly Ambassador Scheme with their partners Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Service

East Lindsey District Council committed to becoming an Age-friendly community in 2019. In 2021 we became a member of the WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Communities. An essential element of an Age-friendly Community is the meaningful engagement and involvement of older people. It is important that older people have the opportunity to contribute to the way that services are shaped, and public spaces created. It is also important for us to share Age-friendly information and to promote Age-positive messages throughout our communities.

As October begins and we celebrate the International Day of Older Persons, we are delighted to announce the launch of East Lindsey's Age-friendly Ambassador Scheme. ELDC are pleased to be partnering with Lincolnshire Community and Voluntary Service (LCVS) to deliver the scheme.  Our Age-friendly Communities Officer Jane Berni announced the launch of the scheme at the recent Age-friendly Lincolnshire Conference, where she was joined by Cllr William Gray (ELDC) and Mandy Elmer (LCVS).

Supporting National Older Workers Week

East Lindsey District Council is hosting a virtual event in partnership with Centre for Aging Better and the Department for Work & Pensions.


The event will be delivered online and will take place on Tuesday 21 November from 12pm to 1pm.


The purpose of the event is to discuss the Age-Friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme for employers to create a flourishing multigenerational workforce, driving productivity and innovation. Information will be shared around the recruitment and retention of older workers and the benefits of workplace flexibilities. Everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions and chat with a representative from the Centre for Ageing Better.

East Lindsey District Council Extends Support for Community Groups Tackling Social Isolation

In an effort to combat social isolation, East Lindsey District Council has supported 24 community groups with recent self-isolation funding. Building on this success, an additional £20,000 will be injected into the fund, reinforcing the council's commitment to fostering community well-being.


Originally sanctioned from the Cost of Living Support Budget, a total of £40,000 was allocated to initiate a small grant scheme benefiting community hubs and groups dedicated to

addressing self-isolation challenges across East Lindsey. This financial boost aims to empower these organisations to make a meaningful impact in their communities.


The following groups have been recipients of the initial funding: Trusthorpe Village Hall, Soloby Old School Hub, Huttoft Village Hall, GPC Specialist Tearoom (Grandma's Tea Room Friskney), Lighthouse Louth, Spout Yard Park, Stay Warm and Cosy - Ingoldmells and Addlethorpe warm hub, Wragby and District Social Group, Welton le Marsh Village Hall Group, Louth Men's Shed, Carrington Village Hall, Winthorpe Community Partnership, Revesby Village Hall, North Thoresby Village Hall, Wainfleet St. Marys, Marshchapel Village Hall, Skendlby Social Group, Maltby le Marsh WI, Kings Church Marsh and St. Mary's Church Marshchapel.

Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places 2023

A draft proposed polling arrangements has now been published on the East Lindsey District Council website.

New funding programme to provide £1.85million for businesses across South & East Lincolnshire

Businesses in East Lindsey are being invited to apply for a share of £1.85million in a bid to help them to thrive and grow - while aiming to boost employment opportunities and bring wider benefits across South & East Lincolnshire.


Following an award from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund of £1.85million, SMEs (Small or Medium sized enterprises) are being invited to apply for their share of the money - and, if successful, will be awarded grants of between £1,000 and £24,999 (or 30% of the total eligible cost).


The new source of funding will allow a continuation of the Grants4Growth programme to support a greater number of businesses through a wider range of methods.

Consultation launched on East Lindsey Council Tax Support Scheme

From the start of October, residents in East Lindsey have been asked to share their views on the council's proposed Council Tax Support Scheme for next year.


The scheme is a way of helping people on low or no income to pay their annual council tax bill. The overall cost of the scheme is around £11.4million with East Lindsey District Council supporting around 6,350 working age households.


An online consultation was launched as each year, the Council must decide whether to change the scheme for applicants who are of working age.
