It's showtime! Stories & performance

Lose yourself in the past with BFI Replay

Get nostalgic with the latest addition to the Online Information Library, BFI Replay: a new, free-to-access, digital archive from the BFI (British Film Institute), exclusively available in UK public libraries. Discover thousands of digitised videos and television programmes from the collections of the BFI National Archive, partner UK regions and Nations Films Archives.


This session will demonstrate how to explore the archive, and perhaps most importantly, how to find funny adverts from the 60s and 70s! Use a library device or bring your own.

Dr John Langdon Down & Normansfield

First established in 1868, Teddington’s pioneering Normansfield Hospital cared for, and educated, people with learning difficulties at a time when most would have been condemned to life in an asylum. This talk by Jo Hardie covers the incredible work by the Langdon Down family and its lasting legacy.


An accompanying free exhibition, My Perspective, in partnership with the Down’s Syndrome Association, will be held at Teddington and Hampton libraries over the coming months.

The Enchanting World of Art Deco
