Could you lead our Barnes art programme?

We're still looking for an experienced consultant or organisation to help shape a community-led art programme as part of the hospital's redevelopment. You'll bring together patients, carers, staff and local residents to co-create meaningful artworks that celebrate the hospital's history and local identity, helping to create a welcoming environment for our new NHS facility. Since April, significant progress has been made at both Barnes Hospital and the specialist school for children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs. With the structural frames now complete, the project has moved into the next phase of construction, focusing on both the external façades and internal fit-out.

The external appearance of both buildings has advanced considerably, with brickwork and cladding continuing across all elevations. Window installation has now been completed on the school, while installation continues on the hospital. Roofing works have also progressed well, including the installation of roof finishes and photovoltaic (PV) framework.

Inside both buildings, substantial progress has been made with mechanical and electrical first fix installations, partition walls, firestopping and beam encasements. We are also pleased to confirm that the new substation is now fully commissioned and operational, representing another important milestone for the project   .

Over the coming months, work will continue on completing the external façades, including brickwork, cladding and roofing works across both buildings. Internally, first and second fix activities will continue alongside mechanical and electrical installations, bringing both buildings closer to the final stages of construction.
