Planning your revision and assessments We are entering a very important time of the year for your studies. I want you to do well and get the best results that you can from your essays, assessments and exams. One way you can do this is by creating a good plan.
The Skills Hub has excellent guidance and video content to help you make an effective plan. For example, creating a revision timetable can help you use these last few weeks effectively. You might want to write out a timetable on a big sheet of A3 and stick it above your desk. A digital calendar that you can check on your phone could also work for you. There are lots of practical advice, tips and techniques on the Skills Hub, have a look now and see what will help you. |

Your rights when sharing your views
If you are asked to share your opinions by the media or other organisations, it is important to know that you always have a choice. You do not have to take part unless you feel comfortable and want to. Before agreeing to share your views, here are some useful things to find out:
who is asking the questions
why you are being asked
how will your contribution be used

New campus health and wellbeing centre opening soon
Our brand-new Health and Wellbeing Centre will open soon. This dedicated space brings University wellbeing services and campus NHS GP services together in one place, right at the heart of campus.
It will also be the first building to open as part of the West Slope development. Watch this space! |
Food, drink and making a social impact coffee across campus
Food is a big part of life at Sussex. This week I wanted to draw your attention to a couple of things the university is quite proud of. At Arts Piazza, your daily coffee can support a local charity through Coffee with Impact. I am also really happy to announce that Sussex Uni Food was recently recognised with national awards including Chef of the Year and University Caterers of the Year for its work on food, sustainability, and the student experience.
Speaking of our sustainability commitment as a university, Stop Food Waste Day at Eat Central offers free and subsidised food, helping you save money while reducing waste.
And one last thing for those of you that are early risers. Eat Central has new breakfast options on Thursdays and Fridays, including pancakes and waffles. The açai bowls look particularly good. |
Vote for Brighton in the QS Best Student Cities 2027 awards
Brighton is an amazing city. Every year the QS rankings rate the best city for students to live worldwide. In the latest rankings, Seoul was named the top student city, followed by Tokyo and London. Brighton, our city by the sea, is currently ranked 92 in the world.
If you have a few minutes, I would like to invite you to vote for Brighton for the 2027 awards. By taking a few minutes to complete a short survey, you can help future students decide where to study and highlight what makes our city special.
Take the survey here, with more details about the awards available here.
| Celebrate the end of term with some free food and games
Join the free Spring Term Party to celebrate the end of term with games, music and food. It is a great chance to take a break, spend time with friends and enjoy the campus atmosphere before the summer period.
Expect a relaxed, social event with a mix of activities and entertainment, all designed to help you unwind after a busy term.
This is ahead of the USSU Student Awards and Liberation Live end of term party at Falmer Bar later in the day and gives you time to prepare for these events too.
