Your last chance to nominate leaders for student voice at the University

Nominations for the Students’ Union spring elections close on Friday, if you want to have an impact on decision making and student voice now is the time to do it. The Spring elections are when Sussex students elect the most effective and representative student leaders on campus for the year ahead. These students help shape your student experience, represent your views, and campaign on the issues that matter most. This is your chance to help shape the future of Sussex and choose who represents you.

In the spring elections, students vote for full-time officers, liberation officers, student trustees, and sports club and society committee members for the next year. These roles are central to how the Students’ Union is run and how students are represented locally and nationally. Nominations close Friday 20 February, 12 midday. No expertise is needed. Full training and development will be given and you will be supported by the SU

Students of Colour Leadership Programme

The Students of Colour Leadership Programme is an exciting opportunity for students of colour to build confidence, develop leadership skills and connect with peers in a supportive environment. This programme, in partnership with GRIT Breakthrough Programmes, focuses on nurturing your strengths as a leader, equipping you with practical tools, insights and experiences that can support you in student groups, society roles, community projects and future career pathways. This free two-day workshop (6 to 7 March, 10am to 4pm, Student Centre, Woodland 3) is designed to help you explore your identity, build confidence, and connect with other students of colour at Sussex.

The programme includes interactive sessions, opportunities for reflection and discussion, and space to explore what leadership means in different contexts. It has been designed to empower participants to lead with purpose and to contribute positively to the communities you are part of.
