Hello ! 

You should now know where you will be heading on Freshers’ Day this coming Thursday 4 September. If you are unsure then please refer to page 3 of the Getting Started guide you received at enrolment.* You can also find more information by heading to the Freshers' webpage here.


We hope you enjoy these first few days and weeks settling into your course but if you need further support with any aspect of college life please first speak to your tutor.

*If you studied with us last year and are progressing to a new course, you should know where to go to and at what time further to your tutor phone call on 21 August. If you missed the call or you aren't sure of the exact room please don't worry - just head to the location of your new course at the time indicated below and there will be plenty of staff to help you find your new tutor base room.

Freshers' Days - Reminder of times by course type


A Level and IB 

Thursday 4 September, 9am – 3pm │ Friday 5 September, 10am – 1pm


All other course types

Thursday 4 September, 10am – 4pm │ Friday 5 September, 9am – 12noon

EXtra Fair - 4 and 5 September

Freshers' Fair, 7 September, Sports Hall (off queen street).

The EXtra Fair is your chance to discover all of the amazing clubs and societies that will be available as part of the extra-curricular offering this year. You will visit the Fair with your tutor as part of your induction when you can learn more and sign up to activities that interest you. And, for a flavour of some of the many opportunities on offer, click the link below. We look forward to seeing you!

Bursary Information

Bursary applications can be made via our website. The bursary can help with travel costs, free meals and essential course costs. Please note that free meals will start Thursday 4 September.

If you are eligible for the Travel Scheme you should now have received an email from us with details about how to apply. If you still wish to make an application then there is still time ahead of the half term.*

If you have received an email advising you your travel pass is ready, you can collect from the LRC@Tower Ground from Wednesday 3 September through to week of 8 September.
