Scrutiny team reviews our planned works approach |
Our customer scrutiny team recently completed a review into how we prioritise our planned programmes, including replacing kitchens, bathrooms, roofs and windows. The team took an in-depth look into our policies and procedures, and then additional customers were invited to join a workshop where our group operations director and the planned programmes team gave a presentation about this service.
With the help of these additional customers, the team proposed seven recommendations focusing on how we communicate to our customers about the work we are planning in your homes.
The scrutiny report was approved by our board in March 2025. Six of the recommendations have already been implemented by the assets team, the remaining one is scheduled for later this year. You can find out more about this review by clicking below.

Antisocial behaviour |
Earlier this year, a group of customers reviewed our antisocial behaviour policy and webpage. Based on their recommendations, we made some changes to our antisocial behaviour webpage, which now includes a list of what is and is not considered to be antisocial behaviour, as well as an extensive FAQs section.
Antisocial behaviour is conduct that has caused, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress, nuisance or annoyance to anyone.
We take antisocial behaviour very seriously, so if you're concerned, please speak to your local neighbourhood manager, report it via the form on our webpage, or call 01225 715715.
Remember, if a serious incident has taken place, you will need to report this to the police, and let us know as soon as possible afterwards. |

Pest control | We hope you have been enjoying the recent warm weather, and know people with access to gardens will have been making the most of the sunshine.
While spending time in the garden, you might have noticed an increase in insects and pests, such as ants, slugs, wasps or mice. Our pest control advice page gives hints and tips on how to control pests to prevent them causing damage to your garden. For example, using old coffee grounds to surround seedlings or new plants will ward off slugs, as well as being environmentally friendly!
We also have specific advice on ants, fleas and ladybirds, wasps and rodents.
You can also find more information on our website about using other plants such as oregano to deter pests, and how to care for the critters you do want to find in your garden, such as lacewings and hover-flies. |

Contractors' code of conduct |
A quick reminder that our new contractors' code of conduct is now available to read. This new code of conduct will be a part of all future contracts that Selwood Housing Group agree with new external contractors, or when we renew a current contract, excluding those working on new builds.
The reason for this is to ensure that you receive a consistent level of customer service from any operative attending your home, whether they are a Selwood Housing Group employee or someone from a contracted company. |

Radio teleswitch off | The technology that supports radio teleswitch meters will be switched off on 30 June.
Without the technology, radio teleswitch meters won't be able to swap between peak and off-peak rates. With the deadline approaching, we wanted to re-share the link to the Ofgem website which gives information on how to identify whether you have a radio teleswitch meter.
If you have a radio teleswitch meter, you will need to contact your energy supplier to arrange getting a new meter at your property.
