EXETER COLLEGE ALUMNI NEWSLETTER

Montage of photos of various alumni

Hello from Exeter College.

Welcome to this latest edition of the Exeter College alumni newsletter.

Here at College we have been enjoying the recent sunny spell (as you may notice from some of our socials!). The good weather is also providing a great backdrop for sports fixtures across the board, and in this issue we celebrate some of the latest sporting successes of current students and those of our alumni, alongside other good news.

We hope you enjoy this update and thank you for being part of our Exeter College community.

A SPOTLIGHT ON...

Leah Burridge, Footballer

Leah studied at Exeter College as part of the Sports Academy between 2014-2016. She told us, "The dual career programme offered by the Academy allowed me to excel both in my academic studies and as an athlete. The coaching prepared me well for going into a senior women's team. " By 2017 Leah was playing professionally for Yeovil Town Ladies in the national Women's Super League. Since then Leah has balanced professional footballing (she is now captain for Oxford United) with coaching and management roles, showing real passion  for increasing women's participation in the sport. Her job as the Women's Football and Futsal Manager at Hartpury University and College has seen her lead teams to a number of national wins over the past four years.

In March this year Exeter College relaunched its Women’s Football Academy in partnership with Exeter City Women, offering enhanced coaching and training at an elite level. Women's Academy players will now also have the option of accommodation support, opening up the benefits of the pathway to more young people from across the county and further afield.

Members of the construction consultancy, Coreus, volunteered their time to join with College staff in revitalising the garden at our Hub for Independent Living and Learning at the end of 2024. Amongst the generous volunteers were alumni, Euan Stronge, Director at Coreus, and Finn Warren, T Level graduate and now degree apprentice with the company.
