| As we approach the year-end, I want to start by saying a huge thank you to all our colleagues, patients, carers, partners and neighbours who have supported our work at Barnes Hospital over 2024, and in the years prior.
Barnes' transformation has been in the planning for nearly a decade and we are thrilled to now be in a position to begin construction next year. |

Our teams continue to work hard to manage and mitigate the impacts of our Early Works Programme as we prepare the site for the build phase. We really appreciate your patience and understanding as we have carried out the first parts of this scheme over the past 9 months.
We have a brief pause to works on site now before we finish the final stages next year. We are then scheduled to commence construction of the new healthcare facility and school in the spring - further redevelopment works on the residential side of the site are also due to begin next year.
We are thrilled to be approaching this new chapter in the history of Barnes Hospital. As we do so, we look forward look forward to coming together with our community for a special 'groundbreaking' ceremony in the spring to mark the start of the build phase. We also look forward to working with our staff, patients, carers and community partners on some exciting ideas, including an arts strategy for our new facility.
Our next face-to-face community forum will take place in April - look out for more information on this nearer the time. And don't forget, in the meantime you can find more information about everything happening at Barnes via our partner website formerbarneshospital.co.uk and in our Trust programme guide.
Thank you again for your support and wishing you all the best for the festive season and the new year ahead. |
