Welcome to our latest service update

We share information with you on some of the services we offer and focus on topics that could be affecting customers. (In the last issue we asked what you'd like to know more about and have included extra links below, including winter support offers, customer reports and safety in your home.)

Winter support offers

Our website offers comprehensive advice on national and local support, including money guidance, debt assistance, job advice and training, and digital inclusion resources. You can also learn how to reduce winter condensation. If you experience persistent issues with damp or mould, please contact us.

Pension credit and winter fuel payments

If you’re over State Pension age (born on or before 22 Sep 1958), you might be eligible for Pension Credit to top up your income and access other benefits like winter fuel payments. Find out whether you are eligible to claim and how you can backdate payments.

Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs)

Since April 2023, we’ve measured our performance using the new Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) to improve transparency, fairness, and tenant involvement. You can read our TSM summary across SNG, or get more detail on them in the customer annual report.

Customer reports

Read our latest annual report for customers for lots of information on our performance against the TSMs and improvements we've been making. (We also produce a quarterly performance report, highlighting our key stats, and some of the things we’ve been doing in our localities.)

New Customer Engagement panels

As part of our new Customer Engagement framework, we launched customer-led, customer-appointed Influence and Scrutiny Panels. With a total of 456 applicants, we're now in the final stages of interviews and induction for these new positions.

Domestic abuse

Domestic abuse can impact anyone regardless of age, culture, religion, or relationship type, and it can take many forms. Please visit our website for information and support.

Lean-to roof structures

Don’t forget to request permission from SNG before you start any major work to your home, like an extension or ‘lean-to’ building. We can assess gas and fire safety implications, asbestos checks and planning permission requirements.

Support and safety

Concerns about ASB, tenancy fraud, mental health, scammers, keeping a pet or after some home repair tips? Visit our advice and guides pages. You can also report a building safety issue or log a complaint. 

Smoke alarms - if you're a tenant (except in Housing for Older People), you're responsible for checking your smoke alarms regularly. Please contact us if you can't do this - and don't have family or friends to help. Our safety hub tells you more.

Festive fire safety

As festivities ramp up, keep your building safe by keeping corridors and exits clear, fire doors closed, and festive lights off overnight.

Keeping your appointments

Please be in for any repair appointment – or contact us to re-arrange it (we can now rebook most standard repairs in one call). Otherwise, we will leave you a new-look calling card and your repair may be delayed.
