Scomis strategy reminder

As our customers and partners will be aware, the MIS market in England is changing. Several customers have asked us our view on this. We're pleased to share that Scomis has chosen to position itself as a MIS-agnostic service provider accredited to provide MIS support for Arbor, Bromcom and SIMS. This means that we will work with current and new partners to allow our customers to get the best out of available education technology. For more information read our strategy statement.

Service request forms for ScoStore and ScoTech

ScoStore is an easy-to-use website built to help every education establishment to purchase best value technology. We do this with best practice technology procurement. 

We’ve made ScoStore available to all education establishments nationwide. It’s part of our vision to make a difference by adding value in everything we do. 

The ScoTech service encompasses support for a variety of mainstream industry standard education technologies and learning platforms.

It provides customers with helpdesk and remote support for the housekeeping, administration, ongoing maintenance and health checking of their infrastructure, data storage, learning platforms, school network, print management, and management of school owned devices. 

You can now find service request forms for ScoStore and ScoTech in MyScomis, our online self-service portal. Customers previously subscribing to Virtual Tech, Google, Windows Standard and Enhanced have been transferred onto the new ScoTech service.

To login to MyScomis you will need a unique email address and a password. If you don't have a password you can get in touch with the Service Desk on 01392 385300 or scomis@devon.gov.uk.

The ScoStore service request will be available for all customers to use, whilst ScoTech will only be available to those who subscribe to the service.

The ScoTech form will provide you with access to log requests for support for your ICT Education Platforms including Google, M365, Windows, Schools Infrastructure and back-up.

Devon School Business Managers Association annual conference

This year’s Devon School Business Managers Association annual conference is free of charge and takes place at Exeter College's award winning Future Skills Centre on Wednesday 15th May 2024, with catering provided by Goosemoor Educatering.

The conference will:

- Equip our school business, operations and finance professionals with practical tools and techniques to cut through the fog of government guidance, identify commercial ‘silver bullets’, allow us to develop our line management skills, and meet and network with likeminded peers.

- Provide an opportunity to visit an exciting exhibition packed full of leading education suppliers, attend practical workshops, and hear from industry leading and inspirational speakers, to enable us to take practical solutions back to our schools and multi academy trusts, to allow us to achieve more with less.

- Allow us to learn how to manage the wellbeing of ourselves and our schools, and build the resilience to stay strong when there are all kinds of demands on our time – and when you want to be helpful and find it hard to say no, how you can stay afloat whilst still doing a good job!

The first 35 bookings will receive a complimentary copy of the book “Raising Funds for your School”.

The conference will give an opportunity for school business, operations and finance professionals to meet and network with likeminded peers, visit an exciting exhibition packed full of leading education suppliers, attend practical workshops, and hear from industry leading and inspirational speakers. Scomis will be in attendance.
