Happy New Year and welcome to the first Scomis Newsletter of 2024!

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas break and we look forward to working with you over the coming year.

In this week's newsletter, we have a guide to navigating the world of school procurement, a short survey to help shape our products for you, our training schedule for the new year, and information on the Spring 2024 school census.

Navigating the Complex World of School Procurement

In the fast-paced world of education, school staff, particularly headteachers and those tasked with procurement responsibilities, face an ongoing challenge: how to secure the best value while juggling a myriad of responsibilities.

Procurement is a multifaceted process that extends beyond the pursuit of the lowest price. It’s about finding the right solution to meet a school’s specific needs, all while optimising resources.

Read our guide for Headteachers and Procurement Leaders to learn how to unlock value in school procurement.

Help shape our ScoStore products

We need your input!

Scomis has recently launched ScoStore, our online purchasing solution for our customers and other schools, trusts and federations across the UK and we’re calling on your expertise to help shape our products.

We are continually developing the merchandising for ScoStore and we want to base this on customers real shopping lists. We have prepared a short survey for you to tell us about your establishments shopping habits.

By sharing details on the solutions you actually buy for your classrooms and front offices, you’ll directly inform the products and promotions available on ScoStore. Please take a few minutes to complete our survey on your current and future EdTech shopping lists.

The feedback we receive on your real shopping lists will enable us to adapt ScoStore into a purchasing site tailored to your needs.

Quick top tip

Here's a Microsoft Edge tip for you. Did you know that you can open two web browsers side by side in the same screen? You can find the split screen next to the address bar and pressing it will split your screen into two browser windows.

There is also a menu if you go to the top right corner of each of the split menus. This will allow you to:

  • Open the split page as a new tab
  • Exit split screen mode
  • Switch the left and right tabs
  • Link Tabs-allows you to open any links from one split page to the other
  • Unlink Tabs
