Welcome to the UHNM Charity Christmas 2023 Newsletter!

This Christmas, UHNM Charity will be working harder than ever to make the festive period as special as possible for staff and patients. In this festive newsletter, you'll find details of what UHNM Charity is doing and how you can get involved. The UHNM Charity team are looking forward to supporting you to make Christmas 2023 as magical as possible for you, your patients and colleagues.

Be EPIC everyday, not just at Christmas!

UHNM Charity are launching a brand-new Christmas campaign, encouraging UHNM colleagues, members of the public and local businesses to donate to UHNM Charity, not just for Christmas, but everyday.

UHNM is a 24/7 operation, and whilst we benefit from increased donations at Christmas, we are asking both colleagues and members of the public to make lasting donations that can make a real difference all year round. Be EPIC>

We're taking part in the national effort to get everybody wearing Christmas jumpers this year as part of National Christmas Jumper Day on 8 December. If you and your ward or department are able to and want to take part, sign up here and we will send you your fundraising pack - who knows, we might even bring a special visitor to come and see you!

We're also putting on our first 'Give a Quid' day, where we're asking colleagues to come to work dressed as festive as possible in return for a £1 donation to the UHNM Charity. We'll be out and about with our camera crew on the day to come and see who does it best! Read More>

Christmas Lights Switch-ons

Our Christmas tree lights will soon be shining bright at both Royal Stoke and County hospitals bringing festive cheer to staff and patients alike!

All staff are welcome to attend our switch-on ceremonies on the following dates:

- County Hospital: Wednesday 29 November, 11am
- Royal Stoke: Friday 1 December, 2pm

We'll be joined by some very special guests to press the magic buttons!

Christmas Choirs

We're delighted to announce that local school choirs will once again be returning to Royal Stoke and County Hospital this Christmas!

All colleagues are welcome to join us and over 40 choirs for some festive cheer this December. A full timetable of performances is available on the Intranet. Click Here>

Inpatient Gifts for Christmas Day

Want to make Christmas Day special on your ward or department? You can now apply to UHNM Charity for up to £5 to spend on a gift for each inpatient. Funding will come from UHNM Charity and not your own ward or departmental funds. Apply here>

This year's Christmas merchandise will be on sale from Wednesday 29 December! Support the work of UHNM Charity by getting your hands on our must-have soft toys or add some festive sparkle to your lanyard with one of our pin badges!
