You may recently have received a communication from Capita about the planned sale of their educational software business, Capita ESS after an announcement to shareholders on Friday 19th June 2020.

Following a briefing by Andy Bennett, MD of Capita ESS to the Scomis Senior Leadership team, we would like to reassure all of our customers that this announcement has no impact on our service offering to you or on Capita ESS services to us or their planned product developments.

As your ICT partner, we remain committed to providing high quality support, hosting, training and consultancy services for SIMS and the wider portfolio of ESS products. It is very much business as usual for us, our customers and Capita ESS. We share Andy's view that this will result in a positive outcome for everyone concerned.

We would also like to reiterate the messaging conveyed by Capita that the decision to sell this very successful arm of their business has been made as the result of a multi-year group-wide transformation programme. Capita's strategy is to simplify their organisation and the ESS business simply no longer complements Capita's future direction, which has led to the decision to seek new owners.

The key objective continues to be to develop and grow ESS as a leading specialist in education software. At Scomis we look forward to continuing to work closely in partnership at all levels within ESS to the benefit of our customers.
