Sovereign lands first strategic partnership with government

We've teamed up with Liverty to secure one of the first new-look strategic partnerships with Homes England, which includes a slice of £590m of funding to help us build thousands more affordable homes across the south west.

This deal means we'll be able to build more homes directly through land-led opportunities, giving us more control over the development and the speed of delivery.

We've taken a major step towards creating a new formal partnership with West Berkshire Council, which would help build the homes the area needs more quickly.

The Joint Venture, which was approved by the Council Executive in June, would bring together the land, investment and skills of the two organisations to help achieve the council's target of 1,000 new affordable homes by 2020.

Mark Washer has now joined Sovereign as its new chief executive. Mark, who joined from Clarion where he was the chief financial officer, will lead our new corporate strategy and continue to drive forward our transformation plans.

As part of Employability Day, our apprentices Kimberley and Sharon shared their skills and stories with the new Housing Minister and North West Hampshire MP Kit Malthouse.
