Dear colleagues

I want to take this opportunity to write to you and give my assurance that Babcock LDP is still working, albeit remotely in most cases, and that teams can still be contacted to provide support to schools, settings and families.

At Babcock LDP we are working closely with Devon County Council to provide our normal commissioned activities where possible and also support their work in the current, difficult situation we find ourselves in.  We are clearly having to be creative about the way we would normally deliver face-to-face services and provide alternative methods to reach our customer base.  The attached document
gives an outline on what our key priorities are at this time.

We are working on our learning opportunities by updating  and adding  to our online CPD offer as well as providing some additional delivery of CPD such as subject leader briefings through WebEx/webinars.  More information will follow shortly.

We are also planning ahead and working with our colleagues at  DCC to ensure that CPD and training is in place and addresses schools and settings changing priorities . We will do this by  offering a manageable Training and Conference service that considers the challenges and issues that may be encountered by children and staff.

Babcock LDP has created a new webpage to help support schools, parents/carers and pupils - Coronavirus - Support for Schools, Parents and Pupils

Many of our teams will be contributing information, guidance, useful links and teaching resources to use with all pupils, pupils with a SEND and pupils for whom English is an additional language.

Some examples of the resources are:

Academy and MAT purchasing for academic year 2020/21

When you are ready to start thinking about the services you will need next academic year, the SHOP is open for you to begin browsing.  A new feature is the use of wish lists.  You are able to create and manage wish lists in your school account and when you are ready to purchase, you can simply add items to your basket from your wish lists.

Here is a copy of the new Directory of Education Services.

When we are back in our offices, we will be posting a hard copy version to all Devon, Plymouth and Torbay schools.

Training and Conferences postponement

In light of the ever changing priorities and circumstances for schools, academies and settings both now and in the future, Babcock LDP have taken the decision to postpone all Training and Conference events until 31 August 2020.

We will inform you in due course of future dates for all postponed events once they become available. If Government advice changes then we will review this and be back in touch.

In the meantime we would like to thank you for your patience and understanding at this time.
